Tattoo Aftercare

ALWAYS REMEMBER
Keep it Clean, Hydrated & Out of the Sun
Your new tattoo is an open wound and you want to treat it as such!

AFTERCARE TIPS

For Adhesive Wrap

  • Leave wrap on until the seal breaks OR on day 6 (whichever comes first)

  • Remove in the shower by pulling wrap away from the tattoo

  • Wash gently with warm water and plain fragrance-free antibacterial soap (Soap Sheets provided in kit)

  • Air dry or pat dry with a clean paper towel

  • Once dry, apply a THIN layer of ointment Aquaphor 3-5x a day and work it into the skin for the first 3 days.

  • Apply a thin layer of white, water based, & fragrance-free lotion (provided) 2-5 times a day as needed to keep it hydrated for the following 2 weeks

  • Thin layer meaning - Think chapstick not lip gloss! If it's shiny and wet, you're using too much!

For Seran Wrap

  • Remove the wrapping after 45 min. to 1 hour

  • Wash gently with warm water & a couple drops of plain antibacterial soap (soap sheets provided in aftercare kit)

  • Air dry or pat dry with a clean paper towel

  • Once dry, apply a THIN layer of ointment Aquaphor 2-5x a day and work it into the skin for the first 2-3 days. (you want to aim for the consistency of chapstick, not lipgloss)

  • Apply ointment Aquaphor 2-5 times a day as needed for the first 3 days

  • Switch to a thin layer of white, water based & fragrance-free lotion (provided) 2-5 times a day as needed to keep it hydrated for the following 2 weeks

  • Pick or Scratch - After a few days, your tattoo might itch, flake or peel. Don't pick or scratch it. Instead, you can gently pat or slap the area to relieve the itch.

  • Soak in water

  • Put it in direct sunlight

  • Overapply ointment or lotion. Think chap stick, not lip gloss. If it looks shiny and wet, gently wipe away the excess
